Adding forum topics

Each Private Workspace and Discussion Network has a Forum which members can use for debate, sharing and connecting.

Easy Steps to Forums

Posting New topics

  • Click on "Forum" in the Quick Start menu;
  • Click on "New Topic";
  • Fill in all mandatory fields (fields marked with *); and
  • Click "Submit"

Posting Comments

  • Click on "Forum" in the Quick Start menu;
  • Click on the topic that you want to comment on;
  • Click "Post Reply";
  • Fill in all mandatory fields (fields marked with *); and
  • Click "Post Comment".

Within the forums you can do two specific tasks:
  1. Post new topics
  2. Post comments
Each of these items are explained below.

Posting New Topics

To post a new topic you simply click on "New Topic". This will bring you to another page where you can fill in the details of your new topic. The screenshot below give you more details.


First fill in the fields with * - the mandatory fields. Fill in the Subject - this will be the name of your topic. Then fill out the Body. This is the main content of the topic. You can attach files, if necessary. To do this click on the file attachment link to expand the link in order to upload files. When you have entered all your information you can preview your new topic by clicking "Preview". If you are happy with your content, click "Submit".


Tool Tips

Insert / edit link. Highlight the text you wish to link and click on this icon. The insert / edit link dialog box will appear. Enter your url eg. www.yoursite.com. Select your target; open in the same window / or a new window. Click update.

If you wish to unlink a link then highlight the link and click on this icon. It will automatically remove your link.

If you wish to insert an image click on the image icon. The add image dialog box will appear. You can select an existing image or upload a new image.


Posting Comments

To post a comment, firstly select the topic you wish to comment on. Then click "Post Reply" at the top of the page, or "Reply" next to any existing comments. This will then bring you to this page.


First fill in the fields with * - mandatory fields. Enter your Subject if you wish. Then enter your Comment. This is what other members will see. When you have entered all your information, preview your comment by clicking "Preview comment". When you are happy with your content, click "Post comment".

Reporting Abuse

If you encounter a topic or comment that you consider offensive or objectionable, it is a simple process to notify an organisers this. For each comment there is a clearly visible "Report abuse" link.

It is the responsibility of the organiser of each Discussion Network or Private Workspace to respond to any abuse reported. If your concerns are not addressed please get in touch with the CommunityCentral webmaster, Contact us.



Easy Steps to Reporting Abuse in forums

  • Click on "View Forums" in the Quick Start menu;
  • Click on the topic you wish to report comments from;
  • Click on "Report abuse" on the specific comment;
  • Fill in report abuse form; and
  • Click "Send e-mail".

To report abuse in a forum, go to where you have seen the inappropriate comment. Then click on "Report Abuse". This will bring you to the page as seen in the screenshot below. The form automatically fills in your details for you. It also links to the comment you are reporting. You can add further comments about this. Just put them in the Message box in the form. Tick the 'Send yourself a copy' if you also want to send a copy of this email to yourself, as a record. Click "Send e-mail" to report the abuse.
