Interview with Glyn Hawker
Listen to a recent Collaborative Voices interview with Glyn Hawker, of UNISON - Scotland's organiser of Bargaining and Equal Pay. A community development worker by trade, Glyn was in New Zealand as a guest of the Workplace Wellbeing project, to discuss research and work being done in Scotland on sector workforce issues - such as the impact of contracting on sector workforces in the UK, collaborative work being done in the Scottish community and voluntary sector to progress employment issues.

False Economy (PDF 1.5MB) (May 2007). A research report from UNISON, one of Britain's major public sector unions, on the impact of contracting on British sector organisations and their workforce.
Community Support Workers (PDF 148 KB) A research report commissioned by the Public Service Association which shows that Community Support Workers working in intellectual disability services do the same sized jobs as Corrections Officers and Health/Therapy Assistants yet earn up to 52% less.
